CNY 2010

YO WORLD.

It was CNY concert yesterday, and so, suppose to reach there by 6.30am. I reached there at 6am. =.= A bit the spooky. Espcially Kah Kee Hall without lights. Found the switches bout 5mins later, which was located far from the entrance. And then backstage, no lights, then after a few long minutes, found the lights.

There was quite a lot of changes in the schedule and stuff. So i was more busy throughout rather than just at the end =.=

But luckily, overall, I didn’t screw up badly. The only thing which went wrong was that i showed the ppt at the wrong time, which wasn't really noticed by anyone except for the teacher who instructed me what to do for the ppt. Luckily he's nice guy, so didn't get scolded. It was Best Latern Award, but the ppt was Best Class Decoration, so no one noticed anything, because after that was the class decoration award.

It soon came to an end, we had 3 cheers for council.
Overall, IT ROCKED!!!

Here are some pictures: (if i missed out any pics or vids you want me to post, do comment on the post or in Cbox
Scary staircase...which continues when you turn left....then there's a switch for lights for the 2nd flight of stairs, which will reveal a door, which is locked. (this was backstage with no lights, i was using my torch. lucky i bring torch sia)
The spiral staircase...my hand was shaking when taking this picture...so high up...

The hall with lights at 6am.

The hall from the stage view with lights.

The inside of the hall without lights. A bit the spooky.

Hci at 6am.

The very empty road which is usually very crowded.

Yep, thats about. If you want me to upload other videos like other songs / performance / cleaning up of hall + debrief, etc, do tell me =)

1 day before...CNY concert

Yo World.

Have been seriously very busy lately. Anyways, i am AOS for CNY celebrations concert *claps*, but i've been thrown with quite a lot of work cause of that.

OS, the only sec 3, was a good leader, patient, definetely, but as a sec 3, usually very busy, so i've usually got to present since i'm AOS. If AOS is unable to make it, then its secretary who must be there. Unfortunately, Secretary has quit council =.= So i have to be there.

As OT of CNY, we've attended countless meetings both online and in person. I would say that the meetings usually ended up with more questions then more resolved ones, but i must say that it was really interesting, and at the end of the day, we would have sort it all out.

In OT, i must say that not a lot of people did a lot of work. Lots of people had roles which did not require them to do anything and have not even done ANYTHING at all. Xuan Yu, me, yi xin all did quite a reasonable amount. Jonah and Elvis also did some work. And of course would like to thank those councillors who are not in the CNY OT, but still helped out. It really helped quite a lot.

Having done so much over a month or so, i would like to just touch on 2 days. Yesterday and Today.

Yesterday: Had to cut every single teacher's name out for Prize Presentation. Many people went off before it even started, but i think they had their reasons. Eagan and Yi fan(extra helpers): CCA at 2.45pm, needed to eat and change....ok...so too bad...Yi xin (progs): Chinese orchestra. Xuan Yu (OS) had to attend a talk. So it was just down to me, elvis and Sean. But more people came later on. Guan Hao needed to go off at 2.30pm, and stayed till 2.20pm which was really nice of him, but he accidentally snipped off...all the VIPs name...like Dr Hon...Mr Ng...etc...

But still, we managed to complete the job i will not say how cause thats "Top Secret". We had quite a lot of fun talking and maybe complaining while cutting and folding. Soon, we finished and placed all the slips in the golden pot. And then threw the rubbish and...EVERYONE JUST WENT HOME. Then it was just me...with the Golden pot which does not have a lock for the lid, so if wind blows i gg...and there were 3 scissors, 1 long metal ruler, 1 pen knife, 1 large bag of prizes and my school bag... and i had to walk all the way to the Pro-Ed lounge to place these items...and not forgetting...I HAD TO GET THE KEYS =.=...so yea...it was a bit of a problem, but i managed it in the end. =.= Thats the problem with being an AOS cuz if everyone needs to go, someone has to stay and its usually the highest rank person there. So it was me =.=

And now...Today. Today, final rehearsal. I was excited. Council is usually fun and tiring. So we did quite a lot of things. Practices, set up the stage, did a lot of running for me =.=...and so on.

The only thing i learnt in this rehearsal is...don't go near the teachers if you've just done a lot a lot of things and is very very tired.

Everything i completed a long task and need some water, i am usually called..."Hey mickey do _____hey do ______"...and that was about 5 times today.

Had to do:
1. move chairs
2. carry plants
3. Paste the classes print out (for 2 lvls...=.=)
4. learn blank screen
5. Transport 2 large large packs
6. Talk to Dean of studies on CNY scrolling of lyrics
7. Transporting of golden pot, prizes

And these were the big duties one after another one after another cuz whenever i walked pass Mr Lim, he would ask me to do something cuz Xuan Yu (OS) was already doing something then, and i had just finished. But still, at least Mr Lim gave me a job rather than me doing nothing and wasting my time.

And i think, i shall post some pictures in my blog...for the 1st time.......ok...maybe not...i just realised that my handphone screwed up and ALL THE PICTURES ARE GONE.....ok...a bit pissed abt that fact =.= so nvm...tomr...6.30, i shall re...take...which i dun think might be that ok....

So sad. I got pics of the hong pao world, the nice view from stage and from seats, the very tiring pasting of class list with xuan yu at one end who can hardly be seen which shows the big length of the sch hall...and so on...all gone...damn.

So tomr i will try to:
1. take pics of hall and the things council has done before and during the rehearsal (which my reason wud be checking for problems...then i go take pics and check the hall at 6.30am)
2. take a pic of the hall...full. (when all the pupils come)
3. take videos of the sch singing, etc (which i must becareful...cuz i might screw up the lyrics if i dun pay attention)

Ok, so looks like, thats all. Lol =.= Tomr, maybe it will be better. Tomr maybe the handphone will not screw up. See you tomr.

Council Investiture

Hi World,

This is my 1st blog post and it will be about the Council Investiture as it was really an interesting event and i seriously had to blog it somewhere, which was why i created this blog. And i try blog in proper English lah.

Anyway, we were dismissed at 12noon, had some really expensive cup noodles with no discount for councillors at $2 per cup. Changed into council uniform, went to hall and had some last minute practicing of synchronised standing up, pledge and stuff like that.

Skipping a few parts...it was time for HSC to perform. And they're setting up of the stage was kind of loud, but it was okay. The performance was really unique and well though of. The people in luminous outfits, glowing hands, people dressed in black was all really a special idea and i think everyone enjoyed it a lot. As for the laser show, i had the exact same lasers as the ones HSC was using. Same design, same power, same brand and most probably, same supplier. So yea...Good Job HSC! Great performance. It really brought up the spirit of the audience.

Next, was the actual investiture. I think we did quite well. The only thing i realised on stage, was the the two teachers in charge kept waving their hands at us and looked a bit anxious, but i didn't really get what they wanted us to do. So i looked somewhere else cause they were a bit distracting as i didn't know what they wanted us to do. But looking somewhere else was more distracting, so many people looking at us, and i have stage fright. Lol.

When walking back to our seats after going on stage, i heard a girl from another school say:

Girl: "How they make all the chairs like go up at the same time
arh?"

MC: "起源公式院(ortus in chinese (dunno how say in chinese))" *then ortus
councilors stood up at the same time and the chairs hit the back at the exact
same time*

Girl: "You see! You see! How they do that??"

Lol, looks like the practicing of standing up really did pay off.

Next was pledge taking. So we went to our respective places. And just when the pledge was about to start, a girl placed a camera at my knee level and then snap a picture...with flash =.= and then i screwed up the 1st line of the chinese pledge. But ignoring that fact, i think the HSC really did a very good job in making the standing formation of the pledge taking and singing of school song. It looked really good which was why many people started snapping pictures during pledge taking.

21 guns! Haha....screwed. Mediatech had some problems. And the cheer was quite good...although we did a bit too many and that we forget to "hwa chong squeeze" which would increase the volume, but that was a small problem.

Next was school tour. Me and Yi xin got Pei Hwa Secondary. Me and Yi xin felt we screwed up quite a bit cause we were didn't know what to say. Anyway, thanks Andy, Kaycee and Cherine for being nice audiences to our boring intros =D.

And those few hours seemed to pass rather fast. Soon, it was debrief. So there were some jokes by Vice President which i will not say what on this blog since its open blog though the joke was of course.... very pure and innocent.... as it was our Vice President who said that right?

Anyway, thats about it. Thanks for the fruitful investiture everyone. Time to do hw liao =.= and do have a look at my Council Drum Cover and Non-screwed CNY drum cover which will be open to friends. Bb...and HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR! and also HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHERINE.
